At 03:29 on November 8, the No. 3 turbine-generator set of the Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II project, independently developed and manufactured by Harbin Electric Corporation, successfully reached and maintained the rated speed of 1500 rpm with all operational parameters within optimal ranges. This milestone marks the successful completion of the non-nuclear steam roll test for Harbin Electric Group's first Hualong One unit—Hainan Changjiang Unit 3, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning and operation of the unit according to schedule.

The Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Project is the first large-scale pressurized water reactor nuclear power project commenced during China's 14th Five-Year Plan period. Both turbine-generator units feature the independently developed Hualong One nuclear steam turbine and generator with proprietary intellectual property rights, manufactured by Harbin Electric Group.Unlike previous mature models used in Hualong One projects, this unit's turbine incorporates several groundbreaking innovations: the low-pressure rotor employs Harbin Electric Turbine Company's independently designed 1800mm last-stage blades – representing the longest moving blades and heaviest integral forged low-pressure rotor ever designed and manufactured by the company, with a single rotor weighing 248 tonnes. The generator adopts a water-hydrogen-hydrogen cooling scheme and incorporates high-reliability technologies including an insulation system developed by Harbin Electric Motor Company capable of withstanding 30kV voltage level. These advancements give the generator notable characteristics of high output capacity, superior efficiency, low temperature rise, and minimal vibration.
